How can I recover a lost password for my main FTP user for a domain?

You cannot recover a lost FTP password in Plesk, but you can reset the FTP password to a new value.

To reset your FTP password in Plesk 5 (Upipe, MDH hosting accounts), follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Plesk control panel.
  2. Click on the domain name for which you need to change the password.
  3. Click on the 'Hosting' button.
  4. Click 'Next'.
  5. Set a new password in the 'FTP password' and 'Confirm FTP password' text boxes.
  6. Click on the Update button to save your changes.

To reset your FTP password in Plesk 7.5 Reloaded (OHP, WebPro hosting accounts), follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Plesk control panel.
  2. Click on the domain name for which you need to change the password.
  3. Click on the 'Setup' button.
  4. Click 'Next'.
  5. Set a new password in the 'New FTP password' and 'Confirm password' text boxes. 
  6. Click on the OK button to save your changes.
